The most common reason that a door becomes difficult to operate is that it has dropped.  Misaligned or dropped doors are the single most common reason for locking mechanisms failing.  Left over time your door will become increasingly more difficult to operate, this puts adverse strain on the lock which may result in complete failure of the locking mechanism.

Our skilled Technicians will use one or more techniques to realign your door, such as toe and heeling the glass, hinge adjustments, lock and keep realignment and compression relief.  We carry out door adjustments on all types of doors including Upvc, composite, aluminium and timber.

All doors can be adjusted to aid their smooth operation.  A full door health check is included as part of the service this includes a lock and hinge inspection and lubrication of all moving parts.

Why has my door dropped?

Upvc double glazed doors can drop over time due to many factors.  The most common reasons are age, poor maintenance, loose damaged or worn hinges, glass slipping and movement in the frame. 

A dropped door makes it very difficult to open, close or lock and causes premature failing of the locking mechanism.

 

Do not ignore the problem as a dropped door will not improve over time or repair itself. Don’t risk get locked in or out as it then becomes much harder and more costly to fix.

Call or email us today to arrange a free home survey to discuss your door adjustment requirements.  Our office is open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

Home Survey

Our Door Technician will attend site promptly and courteously as arranged.  During the visit our technician will assess the extent of the problem, discuss with you what remedial work is required and answer any questions you may have. In most instances we will be able to provide you with a cost and adjust your door during our visit.  Should any new parts or additional time be required you will be advised of the cost in writing and the job rescheduled.

Written quotations are emailed within 48 hours of the visit and are valid for 30 days.  Paper copies can be posted upon request.

Secure Payment

Upon completion and your satisfaction we will request payment of any outstanding amount due.  We have now made it even easier and more secure for you to pay for your window and door repairs.  Our Service Engineers and Glaziers are authorised to take payment upon completion and our portable card readers will ensure a fast and secure payments.  All major debit and credit cards are accepted. For alternative payment methods please speak to the office at time of booking.
